Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman New Zealand:

Ironman New Zealand is this country’s largest annual one-day international sporting event - the pinnacle of the sport of triathlon - a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42km run.

The event is one of a select group of qualifiers worldwide for the prestigious Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Around 1600 athletes from round the world compete in Ironman New Zealand at Taupo in the first weekend of March.

Jane Patterson has managed Ironman New Zealand since its move from Auckland to Taupo in 1999 and is a director of Ironman New Zealand Ltd, formed to own the event under the umbrella of the World Endurance Sport Group. The Patter is New Zealand’s sole provider of services to the World Endurance Sport Group. Jane sits on the international committee that provides guidance on the future of the sport of Ironman.

2012 World Roller Figure Skating Championships:

The 2012 World Roller Figure Skating Championships will be held at The Trusts Stadium in Auckland, 29 September - 13 October 2012. International competitors will contest championship titles in the senior, junior, precision, in-line and show group categories.

The Patter will direct the event on behalf of Skate NZ - the New Zealand Federation of Roller Sports (Inc)

Past Events

Port of Tauranga Half:

The Half was New Zealand’s most popular triathlon - a 2km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run. More than 1400 athletes compete as elite, age groupers or teams in the event held in the first week of January at holiday hotspot, Mount Maunganui.

The Patter provided operational, race and sponsorship management for the Port of Tauranga Half, the flagship event for Sport Bay of Plenty and Tauranga City Council from 2005 – 2012.

Craigs Investment Partners Tinman:

The Tinman Triathlon at Mount Maunganui - a 1500 swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run - is popular with newcomers as well as with seasoned athletes. Athletes compete in the sprint and standard distances for individuals and teams, annually in the first weekend of December.

The Patter has provided operational, race and sponsorship management for the Tinman on behalf of Sport Bay of Plenty from 2009 - 2011. Tinman has been an annual event in the Bay of Plenty since 1989 and kicks off the triathlon season.

REAL Women’s Series:

The Patter owned and managed the REAL Women’s Series of non-competitive duathlons - a 3.5km run, 10km bike followed by a 1.5km run – from 2007 - 2012. The inspiration is in the brand: REAL = Regular Exercise, Active Lives.

Run by women for women, the series is held at nine venues across New Zealand from January to May. The outdoor events provide both a challenge and a non-threatening atmosphere for women of all ages, cultures and levels of fitness as they develop healthy lifestyles for themselves and their families.

World Netball Championships 2007

Jane Patterson was general manager of the World Netball Championships held in Auckland on behalf of Netball New Zealand.

New Zealand Golf Open 2005

The Patter developed and implemented the event marketing plan and managed all sponsorship relationships, including Sponsors’ Golf Day, on behalf of NZ Golf.

Nike You’re The Run That I Want

A 10km run for Nike held in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in 2004. The Patter, responsible for the Auckland event, designed a run course with a “difference” and directed the event attracting 4800 runners in the inaugural year.
